Remember that all teams must play the last three weeks to be eligible for post season activi 2-20-15: Posted. No envelope from Stagestop. Four envelopes had money in them that did not need to pay. Elk's #1 and Elk's #3, Karma's #2 and Sullivan's #2. All teams are paid up for the rest of the season except Paddy's which owes $25 plus a late charge, Hideaway #2 has to pay one more time and Stagestop owes $35 in late charges. All team captains need to look at the rosters to see who on their team will be eligible for post season play. A player will have to have played 50 games, 50% of the matches played, to be eligible for the post season. No player not on the roster the last four weeks of the regular season may play in the playoffs.
2-13-15: Posted. No envelope from Paddy's. All but three teams are paid up and current on money. The three exceptions are Hideaway #2 which did not pay or play the first week that was thrown out so they have to pay two more times. Stagestop owes $35 in late charges and Paddy's owes for last week plus a $5 late charge. A couple of administrative matters - Ruth and Karen have told me they will not serve as officers next year so we will definitely need someone to step up and run for President and Vice President at the banquet in April. I am still undecided but I may not run again either. I do not know yet. The other thing is the year end Turkey Shoots. Since we only have 16 teams in the league this year, which will limit the number of eligible players, we discussed the possibility of having both turkey shoots at the Hideaway (3 tables) at the same time. If we do not have enough players for 2 turkey shoots, we can put more money into one and pay more places. In the past, by the rules, we pay 25 % of the players who pay. This is up for discussion, let me or one of the other officers know what you think. 1-31-15: Stats are posted. NO MATCHES THIS WEEK. WATCH THE SUPERBOWL AT YOUR FAVORITE WATERING HOLE. I have heard there will be some pretty good parties around. We will be having one at the VFW in Amargosa. Everyone is invited. Most teams will only have to pay one more time. The only exception is Hideaway #2 since they did not play the first week and they will have to pay twice or pay double once in the last four weeks. I also still need $35 from Stagestop. All 16 envelopes were turned in this week. 1-23-15: I crashed my computer and lost everything. I had to rebuild my whole program. Sorry. Anyway, everything is now posted but everyone, Captains and players alike, needs to check to make sure it is correct. All 16 teams turned in an envelope this week and Stagestop turned in one they did not turn in last week but still no late fees. They now owe $35 in late charges. Don't ask me how I did it but I screwed up so you have to scroll down to see the last part of the stats. I am working on trying to fix it. 1-9-15: I meant to post this last night and forgot. Sorry! All 16 teams turned in an envelope this week and Stagestop caught up on the payments for the weeks they missed before the Holidays. They did not pay any late charges. Elk's #3 paid the $5 late charge they owed. Stagestop still owes $30 in late charges and Sullivan's owes $5. Otherwise, everyone is current. I received bad information about Karma's. Apparently, JD, the new owner, only took one table out and wants to keep pool teams in the bar. Dan Neubauer's team will be playing there (Karma's #2 - Division I). I do not know if Walt is taking his team back or will stay at Sullivan's. This came from the new owner. He called me the other day after I st0pped in on Sunday. Disregard the info posted below about Dan's team. When team captains sign the other team's score sheet, they need to check the number of wins for each of their players to make sure they agree. I had a problem with this while posting scores yesterday and it took a long time to find the problem. 12-31-14: KARMA #2, DAN NEUBAUER'S TEAM, WILL PLAY THE REST OF THEIR HOME GAMES AT THE STAGESTOP. KARMA #1, WALT LEAKE'S TEAM, WILL PLAY THE REST OF THEIR HOME GAMES AT SULLIVAN'S. I made a boo-boo when I updated the schedule. I skipped a week for Easter but did not change the dates. It is fixed. 12-20-14: I have updated the schedule and added one more game so we will have 20 games that count in the standings. Easter is April 5, so I have skipped that week in the schedule. I have also left copies of the last page of the schedule at all of the drop points for those team captains who need them. I have also left extra score sheets at all of the drop points. You should not need them but for some reason there are a number of teams at the end of the season who do not have enough score sheets. I did not leave extra envelopes. You can use any envelope, just put your team name and number and the date of the match on it on the outside of the envelope when you turn it in. Karma's has apparently been sold and the new owners do not want to support pool teams. Therefore Karma's #1 has moved to Sullivan's (Walt's team - Division II). Dan has not told me where he will be playing. 12-20-14: Stats are posted. No matches until after the holidays. Karma #2 caught up all shortages and late charges but for the third week in a row I did not receive an envelope from Stagestop. I received an envelope with money from Sullivan's #2 but it did not have a score sheet. Since they played each other they are not included in the stats. When a player makes a 9 on the break, be sure it is legible and CIRCLED on the score sheet. If your n looks like a w and it is not circled, I cannot be responsible for not posting. I harp and harp about score sheets being legible, but people still do not follow the guidelines. A 9 is better than an n for a 9 on the break since it is easier for me to catch and if it is circled it catches my attention. Tommy, you can quit crying - I found yours and it is included in this weeks stats. I thought the n was a w. Sorry. 12-8-14: Stats are posted. The season is half over. So far only a couple of teams have not been turning in their envelope every week with the correct money in them. Karma #2 is the worst offender, they did not turn in an envelope this week which makes the fourth time they have been late. Their envelope has been short $5 on five separate weeks which has not been made up. They now owe $25 in shortages, $20 in late fees and $25 for last Sunday. The other major offender is Stagestop who has not turned in an envelope the last two weeks. They were also late the first two weeks of the season so they owe $20 in late fees and $50 for the last two weeks. Sullivan's #2 was short $5 one week and Elk's #3 was late one week so they both owe $5. To other matters: a player for one of the Elk's teams called the other day and said he had made the 9 ball on the break for which I had not credited him. Team captains need to be sure and circle an N or a 9 on their scoresheet so players get credit for 9 on the break. This goes all the way back to the third week of the season. Captains also need to look at the rosters for their team on this website and fix their players names. Call me!!! 12-1-14: I posted the rest of the stats. Sullivan's #2 forfeited their match to Arnie's #1 and Stagestop did not turn in an envelope. 11-28-14: I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I posted the standings and I will post the individual stats in a couple of days. I am going to see my grandkids for a couple of days. I will post by Monday. There are no matches this week due to the holiday. ENJOY! 11-21-14: Stats are posted. I received all of the envelopes with the correct money for this week in them. I am still short money from previous weeks including late charges as noted below. There were no 9 ball on the break this week and only three 5 & 0 matches which is unusual. We will play this week and then take a week off for Thanksgiving. 11-14-14: Stats are posted. I received all the envelopes this week. I also received the envelopes that I needed from last week (Elk's #3 and Karma #2). Neither of them had a late charge in them so they both owe $5 for late charges. Karma #2 still owes $15 for shortages and Sullivan's #2 was short $5 this week. 11-7-14: Stats are posted. No envelope from Elk's #3. I am still getting score sheets with only one name on them. Karma #2 still has not turned in an envelope for 10-26-14 and they have not made up their shortages 11-1-14: Sorry, had a problem with the website. Karma #2 did not turn in an envelope and Sullivan's #2 put only $20 in theirs but Dave Sullivan added the other five. All other envelopes were correct except for one that could not count to five. Please check to make sure scores are correct when signing score sheets. All stats are now posted. 10-23-14: Stats are posted. I again received all of the envelopes but two were short $5 - Karma #2 (again) and Sullivan's #2. This is the third week in a row for Karma #2. All other envelopes had the correct money. I am still receiving score sheets with only one name on them. This week I had somebody named Terri on one of the score sheets. How in the hell am I supposed to know who that is? If the captain cannot take care of the score sheets properly, someone else on the team should do it. There is nothing in the rules that say a new captain cannot be appointed by the players. All you have to do is let one of the officers of the league know. MAKE SURE THE PLAYER NAMES ARE SPELLED CORRECTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10-17-14: ALL stats are posted. I received all of the envelopes this week including one that was not turned in last week. It and one other was short $5 (both from the same team) and no late charge and Karma #2 still owes 2 late charges but with those exceptions all money is current. By now I assume that everyone has heard that we lost one of our players last week. Sandy Hamlin is no longer with us and she will be missed. Throwing out the first two weeks is a done deal and is reflected in this week's stats. This was decided by the officers by a vote of 2-1. 10-11-14: I have received no comments one way or the other about throwing out the first two weeks so I guess that is what we will do. I did not receive an envelope from Karma's #2 this week and I received a couple that had both teams with a final score of 15-11. Stagestop paid but did not pay late charges. Other than that everyone is current. Hideaway #2 only paid double one week so they will only have two weeks when they do not have to pay. Everyone else will have four weeks when they do not have to pay. I will prepare a new final page for the schedule and add one game on the final week to give us 20 weeks for the regular season. It will be dropped off at the sponsors but probably not this week. I will start posting individual stats again next week after I get the first two weeks dropped from all the rosters. I did post the new standings showing only the last two weeks 10-6-14: It has been proposed to me that we cancel the first two matches that were played due to the screw-up in the schedule. All money paid the first two weeks would be applied at the end of the season so most teams would not have to pay the last four weeks of the season and one match would be added at the end of the season to give us 20 weeks in the season. If anyone objects to this, please contact one of the officers immediately. 9-25-14: Stats are posted at 8:45 a.m. in all categories. There are several names with what I think are problems with spelling. All team captains need to check the rosters and make sure their player's names are spelled correctly and the stats are correct. I also need two names (first and last)on the score sheets, not Bear or initials or just a first name. Remember that if a player gets a 9 ball on the break write 9 or an N instead of a W and circle it. Two teams had byes early - Hideaway #2 the first week and Stagestop the second week and this affects the standings. I would entertain a "make-up" game between these two teams to get them in line with all of the other teams. There were also two Forfeits by Bounty Hunter the first two weeks before they dropped out of the league. I also had a problem with a match between Karma #2 and Stagestop and both teams had the final score as 16 to 10. Since both players cannot win the same game, it is a problem in the stats. I still have not received rosters from Sullivan's #1, Sullivan's #2 and Paddy's. These are due by the fourth week of the season which is the next match we play. There are no matches this week due to the Harvest Festival or whatever it is being called this year. The next matches to be played will be on October 5th. Except for Stagestop which did not turn in an envelope the first two weeks and Sullivan's #2 which turned in an envelope with money but no score sheet, all teams are current on money and score sheets. Bounty Hunter dropped out and has been replaced by Hideaway #2. Otherwise the schedule is the same as the original schedule. WE ADDED A TEAM ON SUNDAY - HIDEAWAY #2 - AND THEY WILL PLAY IN DIVISION I. Be sure to check the schedule before you go to your site on Sunday. I will deliver them to all the sponsors on Friday night. I picked up the envelopes last night and I was short three. Bounty Hunter forfeited so they do not count but I did not get an envelope from Stagestop or Elk's #3. All the envelopes I received were correct with money and all but one or two were actually legible. When there is a forfeit, you still have to turn in an envelope with money in order to receive credit for the games. A forfeit is 4-1 for each of the players on the winning team. The winners the first week were: Karma's #1, Hideaway #1, VFW Amargosa, Tumbleweed, Paddy's, Arnie's #2, and (I think) Karma's #2 and Elk's #3. Since we have 16 teams, we will play each team in our division three times and finish the regular season on March 1 The pre season meeting was held on Aug. 24 and I was very disappointed that we only had 15 teams sign up. After the meeting, I visited a couple of the locations that had previously expressed interest and talked to bartenders. Bounty hunter only has one player who will commit, Coyote Den and Who's Dunes are supposed to call and the Hubb does not have any players. The only other player who said he was looking for a team was Stu Dedels. If anyone else is looking for a team please let me know. I must have firm commitments by Friday for any team that wishes to be in the league in order to have folders ready by next Tuesday.
